As a dyed-in-the-wool Vancouver Canucks hockey fan, I just don’t have it in me to dissect this train wreck of a season. All I can say is that I want – no, need there to be wholesale changes to the “core” of this team before the puck drops on opening night next year. Of course, Naslund, Bertuzzi, and Morrison all scored tonight, when it didn’t matter any longer. Maybe they were simply squeezing the stick too hard this year?
Anyway, if you’re a depressed Vancouver hockey fan, you might take some solace in this video of the exploits of Alexander Ovechkin in Washington. This guy looks like Bure, but better. I’ve watched this thing at least 5 times, and I can’t get enough of it.

Ironically you used the term “wholesale” changes. Now by this were you inferring that the Canucks should get rid of top players at “wholesale” prices? If not, I believe the term you were looking for “Whole sail” changes. Thus changing the direction in which they are currently travelling. Either way next year will still likely be a dissappointment once again. But hey it’s part of being a Canucks fan. No matter how shitty the Canucks play though, I will NEVER cheer for the Leafs…EVER!

LOL – I’ve never heard of “whole sail changes”… in fact, I googled the phrase, and came up with nothing. Maybe you could trademark it! But I like the thought process behind it… the Canucks definitely need to go in another direction.
