There are a million reasons why you might be still using Windows XP and not Windows Vista, so what do you do if you just wish you could get the Vista Start menu on your XP box? Well, a really good option is Vista Start Menu.
Vista Start Menu is clearly inspired by the new, searchable Start menu in Windows Vista, but it’s not a one-for-one rip. The program is very clearly an add-on for XP, but that’s not a negative point. Along with the Vista-like features, we get some additional features. For example, in Vista Start Menu, the Start menu doesn’t collapse when you remove a program, but instead leaves a blank space that is filled when the next program is installed on your computer. This means that you can get some real muscle-memory going with respect to knowing right where to go in the menu to launch a given program.
Vista Start Menu is a free download, but you can get added features like One-Click Launch and Quick-Uninstall by upgrading to the Pro version, which sells for $19.99.
