Wow, that headline is a little more provocative than I had intended it to be. Regardless, it’s true. Michael Gartenberg explains why Scoble’s philosophy that getting the story first is more important than getting it right is so deeply flawed. Tempting, definitely; but nevertheless deeply flawed. Michael links to a post by Ed Bott that says essentially the same thing, albeit in reference to Boing Boing’s original post. But if you’re only going to read one link from this post, read the first one linked below, by Gartenberg.
One of the things I respect about Scoble is his ability to see when he has gone horribly wrong, apologise for it and fix the error of his ways. I hope he does that in this case, sooner, rather than later. The trust and respect from his readers that he heavily relies on is in jeopardy.
