My left eye started twitching yesterday morning, and has continued almost unabated for about 30 hours. Of course I finally Googled “eye twitch”, and I was stunned to learn that eye twitches “usually stop within a week“. I was hoping for a matter of hours!
Update (April 8th): I originally posted this 9 days ago, and the twitch hasn’t gone away. I’m getting sort of used to it now though; like an old friend. I guess it’s time to ‘see somebody’ about it. sigh
Update (April 23rd): Okay, now it’s really starting to get annoying. This eye twitch still hasn’t gone away! Before you ask, no, I haven’t gone to the doctor about it… I would feel so lame telling a doctor that my eye is twitching – that’s my problem. I’ll give it one more week.

I’ve had a twitch above my right ear for an entire month now and 2 doctors have said it’s nothing!! Meanwhile it is every single day. And now I get some headache pain in that area!! Probably because the muscle is fatigued it something!! Geesh! I take magnesium. Calcium. Chamomille tea. Still no fix!!
If you have any solutions, please please get back yo me. Doctors aren’t exactly the most helpful.
I have had an upper left eyelid twitch for quite a while (a month or more). It is very annoying especially when I put on my eye makeup. I know it isn’t my makeup. It had never happen to me before. I have tried everthing or the counter and herbal. Many people tell me it might be stress or air I got in my eye. Let me know of something new-if you hear, read anything…unsolved mystery–44 years old
I had an eye twicth out of the blue for a few weeks. I was starting to think that was me for life. It was annoying but counted my lucky stars that I didn’t have tinitus or non-stop hiccups.

My left eye lid has been twitching for-believeit or not- over 9 months. I have talked to three different doctors about it and they just kind of shrugged it off as if I had said nothing at all. Please if anyone knows how to fix this I would be so grateful! It is soooooo annoying!!!
Well my one year anniversary of my eye twitch.. I feel like I must be dreaming. this is so strange. I have done and tried it all.. still persists.. doctors shrug like it could be worse. Hope you all have been cured. linda
Just curious, how many of you sleep on your stomach’s? I have been batteling my eye twitch now for 5+ years. I was about ready to go ahead with a surgery called Hemifacial Spasm Microvascular Decompression at a hospital in Pittsburgh but have postponed it due to my conversations with my brother who is a chiropractor. We have “possibly” zeroed in on the cause which may be a dislocated jaw causing a pinch nerve. He drove up from his home in Columbus Ohio and just adjusted my jaw and it seemed to help. He is coming back in 3 days to give me another adjustment. I am very curious as to how many of you have over time misaligned your jaw like me. If I continue to get success will share my results.
I always have had on & off eye twitches throughout the years that lasted a day or so but more recently around the end of June I have twitch in the upper corner of my eye near my nose & eybrow bone which is unbelievable….& when I look close up in a mirror it looks like a ball bouncing! The biggie is that when I SNEEZE it activates it like crazy…….do any of you find that it happens when you sneeze? Just curious.
I had that and I started taking EmerGenC by alacer not the lite you don’t want the sucralose I wouldn’t do any Splenda (sucralose) or NutraSweet (aspertame) AKA Amino Sweet. Read the ingredients of everything they sneak artificial sweetners in everything. Gum, mints toothpaste, drinks, etc…. EmergenC will give you the electrolytes your body needs including the magnesium and potassium. I drink 3-5 a day in the summer.
I have had the occassional eye twitch – the kind that suggests you eat a banana or get more rest, but this episode was different. My right upper lid began twitching out of the blue and I have been dealing with it for over a month. I have prayed, cried and whined about it to anyone that will listen because it is that annoying. I do not know how anyone could go years with this! I have read a lot about it on the web and have tried the basics; preparing myself for botox or a spinal tap. I refuse to go to a doctor as I feel I will not get the undivided attention I need on this subject. I decided to stop taking various vitamins and allergy meds (oneaday-B-FishOil-Ginkobiloba-Loratadine). I have concluded that my allergy pill may be the culprit – Loratadine(Claritin). Now, I have been taking this for years and never had a problem. General web sights did not reference eye twitching as a side effect, but I did find a few that did! At this point I am trying to determine if it is particularly the generic brand I am taking (TopCare). I believe that I just started taking this brand a few months ago and there may be a difference in this brand compared to others. I will try and keep an update on my progress. To all the others that are suffering, I pray for you and hope that you find peace soon.
I have the eye twitches too and will put a warm wet wash cloth on my eye lids for a minute or two and that helps for 30 minutes or so. I think it has to do with too much computer time and not enough sleep. I thought it was my contacts but wearing glasses didn’t help much and possibly too much sodium in the diet or aspartame from gum I chew at work, but I think just too much time staring at the computer.
