Great article on humour, outlining an arbitrary list of the authors’ favourite funny moments or jokes:
“This list is in no order; it is just What We Found Funny. And it still cracks us up.

I just saw Lost in Translation last night, and what a beautiful movie it is. It captures the wonder and tempered excitement of travelling to a foreign land by plainly exposing the much more prominent emotions of fear and lonliness that can haunt one’s daily existence when away from home. This is Bill Murray’s “piece de resistance”, exposing a depth as an actor that he has rarely been able to showcase or explore.
What it is that makes this movie remarkable is impossible to put into words. Its message will speak to travellers and non-travellers alike; at times we all get a little lost.
Experiment with getting “Lost in Translation” in a very different way.

The design by eleven year-old Nick Wooster of Saanich, B.C. was chosen for the new commemorative Canadian quarter. I think it’s the coolest looking quarter we’ve ever had!

Can you imagine spending 2 years on a ten minute movie? I can’t, but Liam Kemp can. He created This Wonderful Life, a completely computer generated movie on his 1.4 Ghz computer at home, then bought 3 more machines to render it.
Watching the main character’s expressions is nothing short of breathtaking - there are times when you can completely forget that she is completely computer generated.

As you may know, I have another site called Beer League Hockey that I run with my “purse friend”, Glen. (I can explain his name another time… ;-)) Anyhow, he’s going out of town, to Bulgaria, in fact, so he enlisted his six year-old daughter to write an article for the site in his absence. She wrote a story called The Beer That Played Hockey.

Check out this video of the Umbilical Brothers, a pair of performers from Australia. The video clip has two acts, the first one performed on Jay Leno, and the second on David Letterman. Both are very different, and quite amazing.

Accordion Guy posted a picture he took of a very cool looking black upright bass with a skull for a headstock. I’d never do this to my bass, and I don’t think I’d ever be caught dead playing one that looked like this, but it’s cool anyhow.

But this is almost evil: a parent selling her son’s PlayStation 2 on eBay as punishment.

Check out these hilarious washing instructions for Tom Bihn bags. Hint: the French part is what’s interesting. I just get a kick out of the idea of putting a hidden message into a care instruction tag.
I believe Tom Bihn is an American label for laptop and carry-all bags.

View this video of a car simulator (Windows Media link) - this thing will blow your mind! It’s a platform that the driver sits on that is on hydraulics about 10 feet in the air, and it moves around significantly in response to the driver’s actions on the simulator. Oh, and I should also mention the three huge flat-screen monitors.
I want one, bad. BAD. REAL BAD. ![]()
