Hi Nick! Glad you dropped by!

Yes, I've been playing with the latest beta of FeedDemon, and really enjoying it. I'm actually the guy that suggested the pre-loading functionality in the beta forums.

The new pagination coupled with the CTRL-D hotkey have gone a long way towards boosting FeedDemon's functionality, particularly in terms of the speed at which it allows you to scan items at.

My only wish now is for the highlighted item in the newspaper view stay at the top of the screen. That way I can jump past boring posts to the next good stuff, and not have to search the screen to see where the next post begins.

Anyway, kudos on the wonderful improvements to FeedDemon!

Jason, I'm really sorry I didn't see this before now! I appreciate your feedback, and I'm flattered that you enjoy my blog.

I've also run into the unread folder bug, but I'm not sure yet what's causing it. We do have this in our bug tracking system as a high priority bug, so it's something I'm actively working on.

Yesterday I added code to version 2.1 (currently in beta) so that when FeedDemon is configured to automatically mark a feed as read, it only marks displayed items read (ie: items that were retrieved and not yet displayed won't be affected).

You probably already know this from reading my blog, but I've also added hotky support to the newspaper view, so you can use simple keyboard shortcuts to navigate between items in the newspaper, mark them as read, flag them, etc. This also makes it much easier to skip long articles without all that scrolling.

A "river of news" view is available for any folder - just click a folder, and the newspaper will display items from every feed in that folder.

If you haven't tried the 2.1 beta yet, I recommend you take it for a test drive. I think you'll find that it takes care of a number of things you've mentioned here. You can get it from http://www.bradsoft.com/feeddemon/beta/

Thanks again,
Nick
