Inventor of the spreadsheet comments on one of my posts
Wow – permit me a moment of geekiness. I posted over at TUMW about a video discussing the origins of the now ubiquitous CTRL-ALT-DEL key combination that every PC user knows. I happened to mention in the post that I recognized Dan Bricklin on the panel, and asked readers to comment if they recognized others. Now, Dan Bricklin is famous for actually inventing the spreadsheet – his product, called Visicalc, was the precursor to Lotus 123, then of course Excel.
Well, Mr. Bricklin actually commented on my post, with a link to a bunch more information about the event where the video was taken, as well as pictures he took there. Cool!

And Visicalc first debuted on the world’s first truly Personal Computer. The Apple II. Fully functional spreadsheet running on 64K. Oh for the days when code was efficient.
