Finally Getting a New Pocket PC

I’m on pins and needles waiting for Purolator to hurry up and deliver my new Dell Axim X50v Pocket PC. I’m paying for it with what I earn over at Download Squad, so when I saw it on sale for $60 off I just had to go for it. I ordered it last Monday, and it shipped Wednesday, and shipping generally takes 4 to 5 business days. That would put it in my hands tomorrow or Thursday. Did I mention I can’t wait?

I’ve been a Pocket PC user since before they were called Pocket PCs. I haven’t gone this long (3 months) without one since I started, and I must admit I feel lost without it. For those of you that haven’t tried handheld computing, you really don’t know what you’re missing. Anyway, I just had to post my excitement. Carry on.

    Jason,

I’ve been researching Pocket PCs for the past 4 weeks. I’ve read every review available and I haven’t found anything that comes close to the Axim X30 or X50. I gotta have one. Is there any particular reason why you went with the X50 over, say, the X30? Thanks.

    Chuck

The X50v has a VGA screen, which means 480×640 pixels vs. 320×240. That works out to 4x the resolution. That was the main reason. I also like having both the Compact Flash and Secure Digital slots.
